Protecting Polaroid Photos from Light

Protecting Photos from Light

If you’ve ever shot with a Polaroid, you’ve probably heard about the importance of protecting your photos from light — and it’s best to learn about this before you make the final decision to buy a Polaroid camera. This is crucial if you want to get the highest quality results from your film pack❗️

Film packs are very sensitive to light, even after the photo has been ejected from the camera. During the first few seconds, the camera’s darkslide film shield spreads over the photo’s surface, protecting it from light.

Even after the first minutes of development, the photo should still be shielded from light so as not to interrupt the developing process. For example, you can keep your photo:

1. Face down on a table;

2. In the inner pocket of your jacket;

3. Inside an empty film pack box.

By protecting your photo during development, you’ll achieve richer colors and sharper details. We hope this post helps you make your photos even better! ❤️
